Terms of service
The deal between you and us: what you can do with Wildpost, what you are responsible for, and where each of us stands if something goes wrong.
Last updated 10 August 2026
- Your artwork stays yours. We only handle it to run the service.
- Where you are allowed to put posters up is on you — the rules differ street by street.
- Codes redirect to a URL you control, so keep it safe and lawful. We can disable one that is not.
- If you register a teammate's placement, you are the one responsible for that location data.
1. Who is agreeing to what
These terms are between you and Flint Port (Jildert Venema), Van Brakelplein 40A, Groningen, the Netherlands ("Wildpost", "we", "us"). Creating an account or using the service means you accept them. If you accept on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may bind it, and "you" then means that organisation.
2. The service
Wildpost lets you upload one design, generate a unique QR code for every copy you print, download print-ready sheets, record where each copy went up, and see how often each spot gets scanned. Features change as the product develops.
3. Accounts, workspaces and roles
- Give accurate details, keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly if an account is compromised.
- A workspace has one owner, who is responsible for everything done inside it, including by the people they invite.
- Roles carry real permissions: owner and admin can manage campaigns, printing and the team; placer can register placements; viewer can only read. Invite accordingly.
- Anyone holding a valid invite link can join as the role it names. Treat those links as sensitive.
- You must be at least 16 to hold an account.
4. Your content
Your designs, campaign names, spot labels and photos remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, resize and render that content strictly to operate the service for you — generating your print sheets and displaying your thumbnails and photos to your own workspace. The licence ends when you delete the content or close the account, save for backups that roll off within 30 days.
You confirm you hold the rights to everything you upload, including any photography, illustration, type and trade marks in it.
5. Putting posters up is your responsibility
This matters more here than in most software. Wildpost tracks a placement; it does not make one lawful. Fly-posting, stickering and flyering are regulated differently in every municipality and often on every individual surface, and enforcement is usually the poster's problem, not the platform's.
- You are solely responsible for having permission to put a print where you put it, and for following local rules on public space, private property, monuments, street furniture and advertising.
- Do not use the service to plan or record placements you know to be prohibited.
- Fines, removal costs and clean-up charges arising from your placements are yours.
- A recorded placement is not evidence of permission, and we make no claim that it is.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- point a code at malware, phishing, or content that is unlawful where it is scanned;
- use codes to disguise the destination of something you could not advertise openly;
- inflate scan counts artificially, whether to mislead a client, a funder or us;
- upload content that infringes anyone's rights, or that harasses or targets a private individual;
- probe, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or try to reach data belonging to a workspace you are not a member of;
- resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
We may disable a code, a campaign or an account that breaches this section. Where a redirect is actively harming people we will act first and explain afterwards.
7. Codes, redirects and printing
- Each code carries an unguessable identifier. Anyone who can see the printed code can scan it — that is the point — so do not treat a code as a secret.
- A code redirects to the destination URL you set, and you can change that destination at any time without reprinting. What sits at the other end is your content, not ours.
- Print sheets are generated from the design you upload. Check a proof before committing to a print run: we are not responsible for the output of your printer, for colour, for trim, or for sheets printed at anything other than 100% scale.
- Printed codes only keep working while the service and your account do. Section 12 is the relevant caveat.
8. Location data about your team
When a placer registers a spot, the coordinates come from their device. If you run a workspace you are the one deciding to collect that, which makes you responsible under data-protection law for telling your team what is recorded and why. Do not require someone to register placements without telling them their device's location is used to do it. Our privacy policy describes exactly what is stored.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Wildpost up and fast, but we offer no uptime guarantee unless we have signed a separate agreement with you. We may change, add or remove features, and we will give reasonable notice before removing something you depend on. Maintenance may cause short interruptions, including to the scan redirect.
10. Fees
The current plan is free, including the first 25 codes. If we introduce paid plans we will publish the pricing and give you at least 30 days' notice before charging you. Nothing here obliges you to pay for anything you have not agreed to.
11. Our intellectual property
The service — its software, design, name and marks — is ours or our licensors'. These terms grant you the right to use it, nothing more. You keep any feedback rights you like, but you allow us to act on feedback without owing you anything for it.
12. Suspension, termination and your data
- You may stop using Wildpost and delete your workspace at any time. Deleting a workspace deletes its campaigns, codes, placements, scan history and files, and every printed code in it stops resolving.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that puts the service or other users at risk, or that has been dormant for over 24 months — with notice where we reasonably can give it.
- Export anything you want to keep before you close an account. After deletion we cannot recover it.
13. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular we do not warrant that scan counts are complete or exact: scans are debounced to avoid double-counting, network conditions and privacy tooling can prevent a scan from being recorded at all, and geolocation accuracy depends entirely on the device. Treat the numbers as a strong signal, not an audited measurement.
14. Liability
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost revenue, or lost goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €100.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
15. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your content, your placements, your destination URLs, or your breach of these terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and the courts of Groningen have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protections of the law where you live.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and email account holders before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new version; if you do not, close your account.
